East Kenya coffee farmer Mukami Mugo grows SL34 on his farm, Kanyi Estate, in Embu County. The farm is located between 1,100 and 2,100 meters above sea level.

Variety SL34

“SL” varieties became the go-to trees for many growers in Kenya because their deep root structure allows them to maximize scarce water resources and thrive even without irrigation. They are grown with a serious eye for sustainability and good agricultural practices, with minimal environmental impact wherever possible.

GRADE AA

Kenyan coffees are classified by size. AA grains are the largest size. AA grade browns are those that have a screen size of 17/18.5, meaning they are larger than 7.2 millimeters.
